    Team Dropcam

A couple weeks ago Greg and most of his workmates from Dropcam ran the San Jose Half Marathon!  I ran with them, but they all had team shirts...I was more of a running cheerleader :D

Some of them called me coach because a few months back I wrote up a training plan, and for the most part I think they stuck to it!  AND they ALL FINISHED!  Go Dropcam!!!!!!

The San Jose Rock and Roll Half Marathon surprised me by being one of my favorite half marathons I've done!  The weather was absolutely perfect....not too hot, not too cold, and the gentlest breeze that felt so good.  The course is pretty flat, has good music and lots of cheerleaders.  And it has lots of beautiful houses to look at throughout the run.  Much of the run went through residential neighborhoods, which I just adore.  I love to notice what I like and don't like about the architecture/landscaping, and when I see a place I really like I go to la-la land and imagine what it would be like to live there....just a little strategy to pass the time.

One special moment of the race for me was around the 6 mile mark.  The top finishers were on their way to the end and for a short moment passed all us regularos on their way back.  (Some of these finishers qualified for the Olympic trials).  As we saw the first male finisher all the runners cheered him on, and the second man, and the third, and then it starts dwindling.  A few minutes goes by and quite a few men have passed and THEN the first woman ran by... my heart swelled (Warning!!  I tend to get over emotional when running...it's like all my emotions rise to the surface and I just can't keep them in), I cheered and almost cried...ok, I cried a couple tears.  It was a special moment.  At the awards they announced that this was her first race after having a baby!  Go WOMAN, way to represent!

Well, back to Dropcam...Y'all should check out dropcam.  It's a pretty rad company.  They make the coolest camera's that stream video online (so you can have access anywhere you have internet).  We use ours to keep track of Garbanzo while we are at work.  Some people use their's as baby monitors and surveillance cameras.  I can imagine a lot of great ways to use one... so seriously, check them out!!!!

    xoxo,
    Kjersti
